thierry macarons / flower bouquet

Hey guys~ Just a random photo post from 2 years ago.

The first time I try macarons, thanks to my friend

The only flavours I remember were lychee, orange, coffee and chocolate.
As pretty as macarons are, I have to say that they don't taste that great. They're mostly just sweet and slightly chewy with a light/delicate taste.

The bag and macaron packaging is really cute.

The flowers are so colourful~ They smelled nice too.

SUPERGA SNEAKERS + DIY DENIM SHORTS + OOTDs

 Superga 2790 Linea Up Down - White FlatformSneakers

These are one of my favourite shoes purchases~

I am in love with pure white shoes! But since I hate getting them dirty, I end up not wearing them a lot.
These platform shoes are a bit chunky and heavy, causing them to be a little hard to walk in due to the stiff soles, but I still really love them.
They add a few inches of height and make your legs look longer. +_+
I checked the website and saw the price (50 pounds ~ almost $100 CDN) which kills me dead so yeah, I'm really glad I bought them at Ross for $15. When I first saw them on the shelf I thought they looked ridiculous because I wasn't into platform shoes at the time, but I tried them on and really liked the look.
Moral of the story = try on ugly things sometimes.
You might be surprised at your own tastes in fashion.

Talking about European currency reminds me of the time that my friend went on a school trip to Europe and bought clothes from H&M. I asked her why she bought it there when she could buy it in Canada, and she said "Because everything looks cheaper in pounds." LOL..... =____= ; ;

OOTD #1
Perfect outfit for summer weather which is coming up~ (or already here)
The panda shirt is adorable and super thin/loose. I got it 1 size too big which I kind of regret because I'm not really into the baggy/loose style at the moment, but the panda is too cute to not like. =3=

DIY DENIM SHORTS

Tools needed:
Any type of denim (capris/jeans etc, you'll cut them off anyway)
Scissors to cut the fabric
A ruler to make a straight edge
Chalk to mark where you want to cut

When you cut the fabric, try to cut at a bit of an angle, so the inner thigh area is longer than the outer thigh area. This will keep the bottom of your shorts more even.
It may also help to keep the denim at the back of the thighs slightly longer too because you don't want to show the bottom of your butt (probably). Your butt takes up more space so it makes sense to need more fabric, yeah?

Anyway, this is a very brief guide, so if you're actually planning to cut some shorts, look for a better guide lol

DIY denim shorts are very easy and cheap to make. You can easily buy capris/jeans at thrift stores.
I ended up using my sisters old capris that didn't fit her anymore.

Since I folded my shorts up I didn't have to deal with the loose strands. They're not totally even in the pictures but with some adjusting they look fine.

OOTD #2
Beige Cardigan - liquidation store / Black Skeleton Shirt - old online shop / Black Shorts - local shop / Detailed Lace Stockings - Daiso / Black Platform Converse Style Shoes - China

Outfit of the day on the last day of Grade 12 last year lol. I have this thing about wearing long sleeves in the summer to avoid getting tanned.

& I understand my OOTD photos are horribly grainy & bad quality because of dark lighting but I tried to save them with filters ok TT-TT
Both OOTD's were taken about a year ago.

19th bday weekend

Last week was my bday weekend so I decided to post again~ I actually don't have much to post about but somehow I feel bad that my last few posts were just a huge spam of travel pics. I feel like I should write more but I have nothing to write about. I would like to do OOTD posts so maybe if I can find a good location to take pictures I'll do that.

& Ok so I know it's like 2 months late to say this now, but I changed my url from
jaekayy.blogspot.com -> jello-ca.blogspot.com

jaekayy literally meant jk as in just kidding & I only made up that dumb name for a username on Maplestory years ago omg...
Changing urls makes me really hate people who take the good urls & not post for years... or those other people that hog urls =o=;;

Anyway, some food pics of sushi~

California Sushi rolls

 Spicy Salmon Sashimi & Dynamite Roll

 Seafood Udon & Yam Tempura

 Fruit Sponge Cake

 Birthday candles are surprising a lot harder to blow out than I thought?? No wonder why children spit all over them in their effort to blow them out hahaha

xiao hua + her mom

 oh god I feel so weird posting (4 month old) selfies on this blog now.. I don't remember the last time I did but for about 2 years I didn't take many pictures of myself. My room has this horribly gross yellow lighting & I already look like enough of an oompa loompa in my uni ID card TT-TT
I just like the way my eye looks like in the right pic even though I also look like I'm balding lol.

San Francisco Road Trip January 2014 PART 3

Part 3~ I edited/uploaded so many pictures I feel like I should have made 4 parts lol. This post has photos from San Francisco and Monterey.

 ...NO ONE EVER TELLS ME HOW BAD I LOOK. OR HOW MY CARDIGAN IS WEIRD. THEY DON'T EVEN CARE. NO TASTE. HORRIBLE.
Anyway, I looked super derp w/ half closed eyes lol so I covered my face.

At one end of the Golden Gate Bridge Fort

Another oblige thy mother for touristy photos pic

 These dogs were huge! x5 times the size, x5 the amounts of drool

We saw them outside a sports store by the bridge. So adorable and fluffy ;o;

If you're near San Francisco you should take time to do this drive. It's very scenic with gorgeous views.

 I don't know what this thing is (seaweed?) but it was pretty big

 My face was completely scrunched up again because it was so bright. I wish I had sunglasses or something =3=

Next we went to some small town at the end of the drive, which was very quaint and cute.

 Pugs!

 We walked all the way to Chinatown from our hotel and went through this tunnel.

 At some Asian restaurant. I love how they left the paper on the tip of the straw :D

There was a Monarch Butterfly Grove in Monterey but I think it was too cold so we didn't see many butterflies.
This chair is pretty cute though

Hotel breakfast & then the 4 hour+ drive back to B.C

Ughh looking back at these photos make me miss traveling. San Francisco is probably one of my favourite U.S cities (other than Portland but that's just because shopping there is tax-free)
